    Labor Law Upgrade

    ELSA Kharkiv successfully organized and executed a 3-part educational seminar titled “Labor Law Upgrade,” dedicated to analyzing the draft of the new Labor Code of Ukraine through three distinct professional perspectives: legal advocacy, corporate business, and state regulation.

    Day 1: Advocacy Perspective. Speaker: Anna Lysenko, Attorney-at-law, Mediator, and Labor Law Expert. Focus: contract drafting architecture, protecting client rights in labor conflicts, and court practice perspectives.

    Day 2: Business & Corporate Perspective. Speaker: Mykhailo Tkachenko, Expert in Labor and Sports Law, HR & Corporate Specialist. Focus: employer adaptation, non-compete agreements (NCA), internal workplace investigations, and union interactions.

    Day 3: State Control Perspective. Speaker: Oksana Satanina, Deputy Director of the Labor Department — Head of the Labor Relations Division at the State Labor Service of Ukraine. Focus: procedures for State Labor Service inspections, compliance risks, preventative auditing, and minimizing financial penalties.

    Despite challenges related to emergency power outages and scheduling adjustments, the event provided law students and young lawyers with deep practical insights into Ukraine’s upcoming labor reform, fulfilling ELSA’s core mission of fostering legal education and professional growth.
